Anchor Rajanarayanan introduces the viewers to a place where a war happened 1300 years – Thiruparambiyam Village near Kumbakonam. The war happened between Varaguna Pandian and Athithyacholan along with his father Vijayalayacholan who were supported by the armies of Aparajitha Varman of the Pallavas & Prithivipathi of Genga Country. This war claimed nearly 1.5 lakh lives. This war has been chronicled by Kalki in his novel Ponniyin Selvan.Segment Two: The bloody war of Thiruparambiyam lasted for nearly four hours according to the war rules of the land and Varaguna Pandian’s army was routed. In that war Aparajitha Varman was killed whose friend and ally Nirubathunga Varman had erected a memorial in that land. Aathitha Cholan I upgraded the brick built temple Saatchinatha Swamy temple in Granite. Along with the upgradation a lot of Stone engravings of the war was etched. Kumbakonam Arts & Science College Tamil professor Ramesh enlightens the audience about the war, history & engravings.
